Dee Trek for Local Charities
A group of four friends will walk the length of the River Dee to raise money for two local charities.
Starting on the 29th July the group will walk from the ‘Source to the Sea’, finishing the walk on the 2nd August.
The river is 87 miles long with an additional 9 miles needed to reach the source. The team will average 20 miles per day, navigating tough and changing terrain with no set path to follow.
One of the biggest challenges the team face is carrying the equipment. Camping along the way, they will need to carry all the necessary clothing, food, tents and equipment needed to make the trek. The elements will also prove a test!
Raising funds for CLAN Cancer Support and Crohn’s & Colitis UK, Sport Aberdeen were happy to make a donation to the cause.
