Events to boost your motivation and meet your fitness goals in 2023!

With the hardest month behind us, Sport Aberdeen wants to help you stay motivated to get active, feel good and achieve your fitness goals this year.
We understand that sometimes, life gets in the way and other commitments come up, so keeping up with your new routine can be hard, but we’re here to remind you that you can do this!
Having an event to train for or something to work towards can help with staying consistent and encourage you to fit in that workout which you were maybe trying to put off…
With that in mind, Sport Aberdeen has compiled a list of local events to help inspire you to stay active.
Beginner
Have the ambition but need a boost to get started? Then look no further than the events below. These are perfect for first timers who’ve never participated in an organised event.
1st March – Walk All Over Cancer – 10k steps every day walking challenge
4th June – Kilt Walk – Walking challenge
2nd July – Race For Life – 5k or 10k event
Anytime – NHS Couch to 5k – Walk to run
Intermediate
You have been exercising for a while now but are striving to work towards something more… these events will push you to level up your fitness game!
22nd April – Run Balmoral – 5k or 10k race
14th May – Run Garioch – 5k or 10k race
5th August – Beach Ballistic – 8k obstacle race
23rd September – Banchory Beast Race – 10k
Advanced
You get active loads and are always on the hunt for that next race… check out these events which you may not have done before. If you have, why not aim for a PB!
23rd April – Run Balmoral – 15-mile race
14th May – Run Garioch – Half Marathon
5th August – Beach Ballistic – 16k obstacle race
10th September – Half BraemarAthon – Half Marathon
A bit further afield but a great one to knock off the list:
1st October – Loch Ness Marathon
