Active Schools Fun Run Series

Our FREE TO ENTER Active Schools Fun Run Series is back for another year! Taking place in May/June 2025, Aberdeen City primary school pupils can sign up to run against the clock and against your friends!

The Fun Run Series will take place at multiple venues across Aberdeen. You are welcome to sign up to whichever day/venue you’d like to.

Thanks to sponsorship from Perform Panel, if pupils take part in 3 or 4 of afternoons at the same venue then they will receive a participation medal at the end of term 4.

  • P1-3 pupils run 400m, P4 pupils run 800m and P5-7 pupils have the option of running 800m or 1600m.
  • P5-7 pupils who run 1600m (and P4s who run 800m) will be considered for our end of series Champion of Champions event which brings together the top runners from each of the different venues across the city.

The main ethos around these events is fun and participation! We would love to see pupils coming along and trying out running for the first time. However, we also welcome pupils who are keen runners and want the chance to compete locally against other pupils in their year group.

Wednesdays – Sheddocksley Sports Centre (first date: 30th April)
Wednesdays – Loirston Primary School (first date: 23rd April)
Thursdays – Harlaw Road Playing Fields (first date: 1st May)
Thursdays – Bucksburn Academy (first date: 8th May)
