Ice Aberdeen
At Ice Aberdeen we offer both group and private ice skating lessons, public ice skating sessions, parent and toddler sessions, as well as special ice skating events throughout the year.
The venue is also home to a number of local Aberdeen ice hockey teams and ice skating clubs and can seat over 1,000 visitors during games, events and tournaments.

Lessons & Coaching
At Ice Aberdeen we deliver the British Ice Skating Skate UK syllabus.
From total beginners to advanced skaters, our extensive programme of ice skating lessons is a fun, safe and great way to increase your skating skills and gain confidence on the ice. All ice skating lessons are taught by one of our friendly, experienced, British Ice Skating professional ice coaches and are available on a variety of days and times..
Most lessons are delivered in small groups, although private individual lessons are also available. For under 5s we recommend parent and toddler sessions.
Ice Skating Lessons
Our Skate UK lessons operate as a 50-week continuous programme, with a two-week break over the Christmas period.

Cancel your lessons

Please note that cancellation must be in line with the terms and conditions of your contract which were sent to you when joining. Please do not cancel your Direct Debit with your bank until we have received confirmation that you wish to cancel and have confirmed your termination date.
Ice Hockey
As part of the Ice Aberdeen programme of activities, you can play Ice Hockey at Linx Ice Arena.
Hockey For All
Hockey For All (HFA) was introduced in Aberdeen to encourage the uptake of ice hockey by young people over the age of 16, who may have always had an interest but no opportunity to join a league playing team. Whilst the minimum age is 16, there is no upper age limit.
HFA is suitable for beginners with basic skating skills. This session is totally non-contact and only open to non-league players.
HFA is run by fully qualified ice hockey coaches. Beginners are also assisted by a number of the better players who attend.
Two sets of loan equipment are available on a first come first served basis.
Sessions: Friday 21:15-22:30 with additional ice time when available and advised on HFA Aberdeen Facebook page.

Ice Hockey Clubs

Linx Ice Arena is a recognised British Ice Skating Skate UK Learn to Skate facility. Located on the popular Beach Promenade, the venue offers both group and private ice skating lessons, public ice skating sessions, parent and toddler sessions as well as special events throughout the year.
Clubs
Linx Ice Arena is proud to play host to numerous community clubs in a variety of different ice genres including figure skating, synchronised skating and three different ice hockey clubs.
The venue can seat over 1,000 visitors during games, events and tournaments.

How do I sign up for private individual lessons?
In addition to group lessons, individual tuition for skaters of all ages and abilities is available at the Linx Ice Arena and is held either during public skating sessions or coaching ice sessions. Ice skating lessons are delivered by our enthusiastic, professional British Ice Skating licensed coaching team.

Do I have to pay extra for skate hire at a public session?
To hire skates there is a small charge of £2. GAFL members pay £1. Please see the Public Skating section for full pricing details. See the Membership section for more information.
Can I use my Get active for Less membership for this activity?
Yes – This membership entitles you to 50% off public sessions, skate hire and any coached programme you may want to enrol for. Find out more HERE.
