Free nutrition workshops for our members
Following a recent survey indicating that many of our members are interested in gaining nutrition advice, we are delighted to launch our new nutrition workshops.
Created and delivered by one of our Health and Wellbeing Coordinators Jordan Moore, the sessions are free to attend for members. After careful consideration of survey feedback, the following subject areas will be covered:
- Structuring a day of eating
- Healthy eating on a budget
- Nutrition for pre and post-exercise
The content will be delivered in a straight-forward, easy to understand manner (we don’t want it to feel like info overload!). So, ideally best suited for those who have some understanding of healthy eating but are keen to learn more.
The workshops will take place in the studio at Get active @ Sheddocksley on the following dates:
- Wednesday 23 November – 1800 to 1900
- Tuesday 29 November – 1030 to 1130
The format will be:
- 30 to 40-minute presentation (this will include signposting to trusted sources of information for your own further knowledge)
- 10-minute nutrition-based activity
- 10-minute Q&A to finish
The initial two November workshops will be identical in terms of content and format and can be booked up to eight days in advance on MySportAberdeen.
Lots of practical information will be shared – we hope that upon leaving, members will feel they have enhanced their knowledge, understand where to find further support and have the tools to start making positive changes.
If you don’t get a space this time, don’t worry – we plan to run more in the new year, exploring more topics in greater detail. If you already have an idea of another nutrition topic you’d like to learn more about, then pop an email to GetActiveatSheddocksley@sportaberdeen.co.uk for the attention of Jordan Moore. We will consider this when we plan our future sessions.
