Leadership in Women and Girls in Sport: Leaders Behind the Leaders
Holly Simpson is a keen, teenage competitive swimmer and aspiring swimming teacher who regularly travels and competes with Bridge of Don Amateur Swimming Club.
Since Holly began swimming at a very young age, she has always admired her coaches and to this day, looks back at them as some of her biggest influences and one of the reasons she swims competitively today.
Her fond memories of these coaches and the skills they taught her are part of the reason she chooses to impart her own wisdom and experiences onto younger swimmers as a helper at Bridge of Don swimming pool.
Some of Holly’s greatest achievements to date include; competing at national events and winning North District medals, none of which would have been possible had she not started her journey with Sport Aberdeen’s Learn to Swim programme from such a young age and received the encouragement which she looks forward to passing on to her students in the future.
