Volunteer Profile: Hazlehead Golf Club Volunteer Group
Say hello to the Hazlehead Golf Club Volunteer Group, who have been volunteering with Sport Aberdeen’s Golf Team at Hazlehead since 2016.
The Hazlehead Golf Club volunteer group is a small group of golf enthusiasts, who have been carrying out important small scale work on the Hazlehead golf courses, alonside idverde greenkeeping staff, with the view to improving the playing experience and aesthetic look at each Hazlehead course.
The group of 8-10 volunteers carry out ground works including anything from clearing leaves and branches from the playing surfaces, divoting fairways, replacing marker posts and creating channels for small scale fairway drainage pipes to be installed.
The biggest plus is the camaraderie and social aspect that has developed between them and they look forward to meeting weekly to go out onto the courses.
Golf Aberdeen cannot praise the work that this volunteer group carries out highly enough.

If anybody has a few hours to spare and would like to be part of the volunteer group at Hazlehead, or indeed at any of our courses, please get in touch with us at golf@sportaberdeen.co.uk
