Our FREE Active Schools Fun Run Series is back for another year! Sign up to run against the clock and against your friends!

The Active Schools Fun Run Series is taking place at multiple venues across Aberdeen in 2025. Thanks to sponsorship from Perform Panel, we are delighted to be able to offer medals to runners who take part in 3 or 4 afternoons at St Machar Academy! The St Machar races will be taking place on Tuesday afternoons, based at the grass pitches at St Machar Academy. Entry to the events are free and we encourage pupils to come along to as many of the 4 weeks as possible.

P1-3 pupils run 400m, P4 pupils run 800m and P5-7 pupils have the option of running 800m or 1600m. P5-7 pupils who run 1600m (and P4s who run 800m) will be considered for our end of series Champion of Champions event which brings together the top runners from each of the different venues across the city.

The main ethos around these events is fun and participation! We would love to see pupils coming along and trying out running for the first time. However, we also welcome pupils who are keen runners and want the chance to compete locally against other pupils in their year group.

Day: Tuesdays

Dates: 13th, 20th & 27th May; 3rd June

Approximate times: 4.00-5.15pm (first race at 4.05pm)

Venue: St Machar Academy, St Machar Drive, AB24 3YZ
